Name of PI with associates
Dr. S. D. Sawant, Pr. Scientist (Plant Pathology)
Dr. Indu S. Sawant, Principal Scientist (Plant Pathology)
Dr. K. Banerjee, Sr. Scientist (Agril. Chemistry)
Objectives:
To study the bio-efficacy of new fungicides and products with safe environmental profile in control of common diseases in grapes
To study the terminal residue of promising fungicides and products with safe environmental profile
To study the effect of promising fungicides and products with safe environmental profile, on useful micro-organisms and insects
To optimize the use of appropriate fungicides in vineyards
To Study iatrogenic effects of pesticides
Duration:
2007 to 2012
Highlights:
Several new fungicides have been tested for its bio-efficacy in control of downy mildew, powdery mildew, and anthracnose. These fungicides when get registered with CIB, are listed in Annexure 5 of Residue Monitoring Plan in Grapes, which gives Disease Controlled, recommended dose, MRL and PHI.
Milastin –K (Formulation of Basillus subtilis) and Spore Killer (Alkoloids extracted from plants) are two products of safe environment profile were recently tested under this project, for its bio-efficacy in control of powdery mildew. These products can be used in organically developed vineyard. In case of exportable grapes, these products can be used after veraison to control powdery mildew on rachis.
