Different grape growing areas like Narayangaon, Palshi, Tasgaon, Khanpura. Subhash Nagar etc are surveyed for knowing the thrips incidence and their natural enemies. Infestation of thrips like Scirtothrips dorsalis and Rhipiphorothrips cruentatus were high during November. Scirtothrips dorsalis was high on flowers compared to Rhipiphorothrips cruentatus, which was mainly confined to leaves. Natural enemies like Chrysoperla carnea were found in the vineyards. The work of pest distribution map is initiated by distributing performa to farmers for knowing pest distribution in various grape growing areas. Testing of botanicals and new insecticidal molecules is under progress.
